History
The .30-06 Springfield (pronounced thirty aught six) actually got its start in 1903. The .30-03 was quickly found to be inadequate. The improved .30-06 had a shorter casing and was able to shoot spitzer bullets. The round was the standard of the US military until the 60′s when the .308 became, and has remained, the standard.
.30-06 is a very versatile round able to shoot bullets ranging in size from 110gr. to 220gr.
