The Winchester 1894 Lever Action Rifle came in two different types of ejection modes, with Angle Eject being the most recent model. A marking of AE on the barrel stands for ”’Angle Eject”’ indicating that the casing is thrown to the side (instead of straight up). Primarily used to account for the increasing usage of scopes on lever rifles (where a straight up toss would hit the scope obviously).
